On a Thursday after school from 3.15 – 4.15pm ALL our Y4, Y5 and Y6 children benefit from our Enrichment sessions.
This includes 3 types of activities, languages, sport and music.
We are incredibly fortunate in that this enrichment is run by a language, music and sports specialist – all provided completely FREE OF CHARGE.
Please read below a little more about the activities we offer~:
In Spanish enrichment, we will be learning how to read new Spanish words and use them to create rhythms to Spanish pop music. We will also be learning a popular Spanish song – yes, you’ve guessed it – La Bamba! We hope you will be able to join us for an informal performance at the end of the half term.
In music enrichment the children will have the opportunity to learn a new instrument from the beginning. The ocarina is a simple wind instrument similar to the recorder in a way it is played. Children will learn how to play the instruments as well as how to care for and clean the instrument. Learning an instrument as part of a group should be a great team building exercise encouraging all children to take part, have a go and show off developing their musical talent. Learning an instrument is a fantastic opportunity which will greatly help their in-class musical ability. It is proven to improve self confidence and reading and number skills. We will give a performance at the end of each half term to show you all the progress we have made.
Mr Jeff runs a sports curriculum enrichment on a Thursday after school. The aims of these sessions are to help your child develop a variety of skills, such as team work, competitiveness, fair play, fitness, endurance and to develop their sporting ability whilst having fun and enjoying themselves.
