Spelling

Children will be expected to come up with a sentence themselves in the test. For example Mr Card will ask; can you spell the word house, that’s house. Now write it in a sentence. The child might then write:

The house is beautiful.

Please make sure your child uses the ‘must haves’ capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.

Reading homework

Children are encouraged to read at least five times a week. Please fill in your child’s planner every time they read at home and remember it is always best to read a book at least three times to help them improve their fluency. We will be giving dojos and prizes out to children who read regularly at home.
