Reading

Please spend 5 minutes reading every day.  Make sure you can talk about the book and answer questions about the story or information in it.

Practice reading sounds in your little blue Sound Book each day.  If you like, you can use the book to write the sound or find some words which use that sound, but it is more important that you practice reading a few sounds each day.

To practice for the phonics test, go to the website www.phonicsplay.co.uk.  Click on the FREE PHONICSPLAY tab, then Phase 5.  Choose either Buried Treasure or Picnic on Pluto.  Again, click on the Phase 5 button, then choose ‘Revise all Phase 5′ and play the game.  If you find one sound hard to remember, you can choose to revise that sound on its own rather than all the sounds.

Literacy

In your purple sentence book, you need to write 5 sentences each week.  Try to use a word you have learnt for a spelling test.  Don’t forget capital letters and full stops.  Please remember to hand in your book on Mondays for marking.  Everyone who completes 5 sentences will get 5 points on the class dojo.

Spelling

Learn the following words for a spelling test next Monday (15th June):

Grasshoppers and Dragonflies: fighters, pumpkin, giving, stripe, crowds

Ladybirds: ear, hear, dear, air, chair

Numbergym

Start on the Bond Builder section.  See if you can get ‘lightning fast’ on the challenges.
